THE BBWN

The Bundaberg Business Women's Network (BBWN) was formed in July 1997 as a result of a Women - Grow Your Business Seminar hosted by the Department of State Development.  The Department and The Bundaberg Riverside Enterprise Centre provided guidance and assistance to the fledgling group.

The aim of the newly formed BBWN was to bring local businesswomen together on a regular basis to share ideas and experiences that would improve members' business skills and encourage "mentoring" relationships between members. Our Mission Statement reflects this approach. The BBWN is relaxed and informal. We do not do any community fund-raising and we are not exclusive - anyone can join. Input and participation in decision making are encouraged.

Our current membership is currently close to 100 and includes professionals, small business owners and employees of government agencies. We maintain a membership register which facilitates the sharing of information relating to seminars and workshops and maintain an awareness of members' products and services.

Meetings are held at various locations and alternate between breakfasts and evening events which rotate between Dinners, Network and Nibbles and Business Showcases.  Breakfasts are held on the first Tuesday of the month and evening events on the third Wednesday of the month. At meetings we either discuss topics relevant to the members (Networking Meetings) or invite a speaker to present business related or personal development topics. Speakers may be Network members or from the wider community.

Our members are kept informed about events and network business by the secretary, a Newsletter several times a year and this website.
